What will this blog look like?

It’s been about two weeks… I’ve written about racism, social justice, grief, birthdays, and other life components. I know I’ve mentioned some of the projects I have going and some of my other interests. I’ve been thinking about what I want to write about from here on out…

I know I’ve already mentioned what I want the community I build to look like. Intersectional, active, and open-minded. But I also what this this to be a balanced place. As my life has started to feel busier again, I’ve been more aware than ever before of when my days are balanced and when they aren’t.

On days I don’t get outside, I’m restless and feel stuck. When I don’t get out a move at least a little, I’m anxious. When I don’t sleep enough, I’m exhausted. When I don’t take time to work on something, I’m aimless and angry. It’s been so nice to work 3 days a week, work on school work a few hours, write an hour, spend 2 hours outside… It’s been fun to work on projects and talk to family and friends. I’d like my blog to reflect not just my political side and activism, not just my grief journey and mental health, not just the academic aspirations or adulting issues.

I want this blog to also reflect my board game nights and forays into fashion, my travels, D and D campaigns, foodie feasts, plant mom wins and fails. All the things that make my life colorful…

I do think that I am going to definitely have some series for lack of a better word. I am working through a series of prompts for writing about your grief, I’d like to share some of them. I have one other grief related project that I will likely start to share when this one is up. I am knee deep in a research project I’m both excited and nervous about, I hope to share about that as we move through the process.

Even though we aren’t traveling at all right now (thanks COVID) I am going to start finding some cool short trips around here, and maybe I’ll share some past adventures. In the immediate future, I’m excited to try playing Animal Crossing this weekend. I am also going to try making whipped coffee, as I finally have a way to whip it. We have been trying all different kinds of alternative ‘meat’ this week, some have been better than others.

So you have some of that to look forward to… but I’m also interested in what other people might be interested in hearing, so if you’ve made it this far in this particular ramble, let me know what the heck you’d be interested in reading my take on.
