A spur of the moment kind of morning. Nick woke me up at 10:30. I stayed up way too late, but still got my 8 hours… Puhtzed for a hot moment, talked to a friend for almost an hour about mathematics, education, board games, and goals. Spent a little while deciding what two wear out. Decided on a yellow dress, a color I don’t wear often, but I felt very pretty.
We drove to a cafe, through the sun and the shadows, windows down. Like a scene from a movie, eyes closed, as flickering sunlight glows through. Now it ended up being the wrong cafe. I had wanted to go see a specific artist’s show set up, but somehow ended up at the wrong one. But I got a neat iced coffee with turmeric, ginger, and honey. It was really nice.
Happenstance that there was a little food truck pod next door, where we found some awesome Scandinavian food and admired the bubbles from a bubble machine as they floated around the tables and up over the carts. Honestly, made me so happy.
Drove through downtown, past Powell’s and reminisced about dates and more social adventures. Then came back home to do a fantasy football draft, write, study, relax. I’m definitely thinking more about what Im going to be working on over the next several weeks, from new classes and work, to my research project, another new writing project, and really just all the opportunities and dreams I want to pursue in the next year.
So here’s to an easy Sunday and making the best of what has been a rough year. Here’s to getting started and not waiting. Here’s to my man, my cat, and my friends 💕
