As cliche as this type of post is, it’s a lot of fun to go through what has made an certain time period unique and sharing it with the world around you. So without further ado… some favorites for 2020.
Clothing I loved:
Berks… my new Birkenstocks, a bright orange/tan leather. The first time I have seen this color and I absolutely love them.
Chacos. Yup. I also have started to discover the importance of supportive summer footwear. Got mine on clearance last summer but didn’t really use them much, but wore them to death this summer.
Crop Tops… Now I haven’t yet tackled a tighter crop top, I just don’t love tight tops in general. I have broad shoulders, big boobs, and belly. But an oversized crop, I can get behind. Airy, comfy, roomy, and great with high waisted pants. I have a favorite cropped tee, tank, and sweatshirt now.
Bike Shorts… the kind with a pocket for your phone on each side. Not only are they comfy, but they have some great tummy control, they aren’t too short, and they look great with over-sized tees or crop tops… both of which I am also a fan of.
Crew Neck Sweatshirts… I’m sure I’m late to this party, and I had one or two before this Pandemic began, but my appreciation has grown along with the number. As a youth I thought only hoodies were cool.
7/8ths leggings and cropped pants, a thing not entirely new, but a trend I love. I’m tall enough that most pants fit that way on my anyway… but now its cool. And I like that my pants and socks aren’t fighting as much for space around my ankle.
Mom jeans… got my first pair in late 2019, but it’s a collection now… not sexy, but comfy AF.
FACE MASKS: They kept me and others safe, enabled me to support small online businesses, and elevated my matching skills with my outfits. Wear a damn mask.
Housewares and Lifestyle:
Sea Salt and Lavender candle. From Target and great…. one of my favorites of all time. When it went out of season I went online and found it from other places.
Ember Mug… yup I’m fancy. It’s great though. And while I know it won’t get as much use in the summer, nothing beats endlessly perfect coffee on a cold night studying.
A hot water bottle… yeah I know. Everyone else here is either thinking “Why….” or “No shit Sherlock I’ve had one of those since the dawn of time.” But for some reason I waited until this year to get one, and I absolutely love it.
Lamps with multiple brightness and warmth settings. This definitely still feels fancy and posh, though something tells me I’m just behind the times. I now how two lamps that turn on with just a touch and have different light settings and I love them.
Thats about it for now… but I’m working on a books and movies version 🙂 I might also just post a list of brands I purchased from, for anyone interested.
